Our garden was established in 1998, and beginning in 2005, we opened it to the public for tours during late May through mid October.  Presently over 1300 roses of all types grow in our garden, identified by name, type, date of introduction and color.

Our property is situated in a picturesque country setting in the Sierra Foothills, amongst oak trees and ponderosa pines.  Come and enjoy our roses while meandering along the paths, viewing the roses from the gazebo or sitting beneath our big oak tree at the lower part of the garden.

We are open from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and request $5 per person for touring our garden.

Having grown rose for many years, Rosemary is a Master Rosarian and Horticulture Judge, both accredited by the American Rose Society.  She is happy to answer your questions, and will propagate rose varieties older than 20 years, upon request.

The Nursery at Rosemary’s Roses

12600 Yankee Hill Road, Columbia, CA 95310

 CA Nursery License # A0346.001

The nursery at Rosemary’s Roses was begun on March 23, 2005, with the aim of providing good quality container-grown roses, on their own roots.

Own-root roses have several advantages over budded roses:

-   They are not grafted, hence no rootstock to take over if the original rose dies

-   They have a far better chance of survival during severe winters, as they can freeze to the ground and still spring back from their roots and bloom the following summer, whereas a budded plant might be dead, with only its rootstock sending up new shoots.

-   Own-root roses have a much longer life than budded roses.

We offer Modern Roses introduced more than 20 years ago as well as Old Garden Roses for sale, and currently have over 1000 roses, 300 varieties, in the nursery:

 -  Hybrid Teas, Grandifloras, Polyanthas, Miniatures, Shrubs (Both Modern and Classic)and Climbers, including those hybridized and registered by Rosemary

-  Old Garden Roses:

Alba, Bourbon, China & Hybrid China, Damask, Hybrid Bracteata, Hybrid Gallica, Hybrid Multiflora, Hybrid Perpetual, Moss, Noisette, Portland, Species and Tea Roses
